Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) establishes an optimized maintenance or support concept using technical, commercial, operational and environmental data. The LORA is performed on each LSA candidate item to determine the most cost-effective method to restore it to working condition.
Using LSA Commander’s LORA Module, the engineer achieves the following two objectives:
• Selection of the most cost effective alternative of maintenance level
• Supporting the equipment design improvement in that direction
The LORA Module facilitates and supports the decision making that is a crucial part of the analysis, and allows the engineer to make the following three decisions: level of replace of the item, level of discard of the item, and most importantly, level of repair of the item. The right decisions for each of three indicated issues will help design a complex system with low maintenance costs, making it competitive and cost effective.
